In the leafy streets of Kensington, this recently refurbished family home is a celebration of space, light, and color. Spanning four floors and covering 230 square meters, it’s been thoughtfully extended and opened up to suit the rhythms of a modern extended family — but with a playful, design-forward twist.

Right from the entrance level, you get a feel for the personality of the home. A double living room is split by eye-catching pink Crittall doors — a fun, unexpected feature that acts as both a visual pop and a clever way to let light travel from one side of the house to the other. It’s details like this that really set the tone.

At the back, there’s a cozy home library and music room painted in a rich, moody dark blue, complete with custom bookcases that frame the space beautifully. An oversized log burner makes it the kind of room you want to curl up in when the weather turns chilly.
The front half of this floor keeps the same dark blue palette, carried across bespoke cabinets and the walls themselves — but it’s lifted by hits of sunshine yellow in the soft furnishings. Thanks to three large front windows and two more at the back, the space feels anything but dark. Instead, it’s dramatic, stylish, and still totally livable.

One level down, the kitchen and dining area open up into a light-filled social space that feels made for family life and relaxed entertaining. Here, the color palette shifts to soft pastels: minty green cabinetry, hints of pink, and creamy marble countertops. It’s playful but calm — and the two generous skylights and wide sliding doors to the garden flood the whole floor with light. There’s even a little seating nook, so the whole family can gather in one space, whether it’s for breakfast, homework, or a glass of wine in the evening.

Tucked into a corner of the lower ground floor is a fun little playroom, where bespoke cabinetry in teal green and warm brown makes storage stylish and kid-friendly.

On the first floor, the master bedroom is all soft beige tones and custom wardrobes — a quiet retreat from the buzz of the house. The en-suite is where things get bold again: think glossy blue wall tiles, patterned Moroccan-style floors, a marble-tiled shower, and a freestanding tub under the window. It’s a bit spa, a bit boutique hotel, and very dreamy.
