In search of various decoration inspirations, we find interiors that match our style with their design and organization. It doesn't have to be a big undertaking. Until now, we mostly wrote about apartments that can serve as inspiration, and this time an apartment with a specific layout caught our eye.
A small apartment with an interesting design
The apartment is 39 m2 and is located in Novi Sad at Liman 3, a planned urban settlement built in the seventies. Each block has landscaped green areas with sports fields and good connections with other parts of the city, especially if we take into account the increasingly developed cycling infrastructure.

The project was worked on by Cherry Art Hub, a design and interior design studio behind Nevena and Bogdan, who shared with us all the interesting things about this apartment. The complete renovation of the apartment took two months, while they needed about a month to create the concept and project itself.

The idea that inspired us to work together stems from common values and attitudes towards space, they said. Nevena founded the studio in 2018, and Bogdan joined in 2020.
A combination of functionality and aesthetics
In society, there is often a prejudice that living in a smaller apartment implies a limitation of free space and activities, associating it with financial difficulties. The belief that more rooms automatically bring more comfort often affects the perception of real estate value. However, like this creative duo, we agree with the fact that the quality and value of an apartment does not depend solely on square footage.

Their vision in interior design lies in the uncompromising fulfillment of all the user's life activities, while preserving the space. First of all, functionality is important, and this means careful space planning that enables efficient circulation and unhindered performance of daily activities. Regardless of the size of the apartment, we strive to create a quality living space adapted to people's needs, which includes comfort and practicality. Our goal is to promote the idea that the size of the apartment, that is, the "lack of square footage", does not necessarily mean sacrificing comfort, but that it can result in a smart design of space adapted to the modern lifestyle.
The importance of organization
The overlapping of functional units and the recognition of potential even in the shortcomings of space are for Nevena and Bogdan a key inspiration in designing. Small apartments, with their limitations, provide a challenge that encourages creativity and innovation. Through flexibility, a well-organized living space is created without unnecessary obstacles. The ultimate goal is to create a feeling of spaciousness and productivity within a limited space, which is clearly visible in this apartment in Novi Sad.
Simple and effective details
When it comes to specific details in the apartment, we would single out the movable table, the "Spash" carpet, the "Blue Turban" painting and the terrazzo sink as key components that further emphasize the authenticity of this apartment.

The transformative, mobile table is designed so that, when not in use, it is placed inside a long, low chest of drawers, leaving free space. This multifunctional element can easily be transformed into a desk, as well as a dining table for 4 or 6 people. This approach provides efficient use of living space without loss of comfort.
